Extradition is a distinct area of practice that some lawyers dabble in as part of their regular practice. However, governed by the Extradition Act and conducted in accordance with distinct jurisprudence, it is not an area in which most criminal defence attorneys have any degree of fluency.
At Sitar & Milczarek, Kelsey Sitar was privileged to have trained with and worked for one of the leading extradition lawyers in Canada, Edward ("Eddie") Greenspan, Q.C. While working for Mr. Greenspan, Kelsey was able to work on a number of high-profile extradition matters. In so doing, she developed knowledge and skills in an area that, uncommon in Alberta, was frequently litigated in Toronto.
Equally important to the extradition process is seeking and obtaining judicial interim release. Our office prides itself on its track record of obtaining release for our clients (see Bail Hearings) and would be happy to consult with you whether you are currently in or out of custody
If you are being sought for extradition or you believe you may be sought, contact our office without delay.
An example of the success of our firm in this area includes:

- U.S.A. v. J.B. – achieved judicial interim release for a client accused of drug trafficking; counsel at hearing, at Ministerial level, and on appeal
